In "Richard Lewis Naked," the famously neurotic actor/comedian is caught, cinema and audio verité, promoting the original release of his memoir, "The Other Great Depression." Compelling on a human level, the 'behind-the-scenes' DVD uniquely documents Richard's experience through the perspective of his publicist, spokeswoman and great friend for many years, Michelle Marx.

Shot in December of 2000 against the backdrop of the fast-paced, Christmas decked-out city, the documentary follows Richard as he promotes the original release of his book, now being reissued spring of '08.

You'll share an insider's, up-close-and-personal view of the process a personality goes through while on a full-throttle publicity campaign on the talk show circuit.

Marx arranged the media you'll see Richard work his way through, prepping for and appearing on The Today Show, Conan, The Daily Show, Regis, etc. This was only one in a whirlwind of back-to-back cities packed with promotion, book signings and personal appearances for the self-proclaimed 'Prince of Pain.'

You'll be part of his CNN-covered book signing at Barnes & Noble, hear excerpts from his readings and share in snippets of live performance. The DVD also includes a number of 'guerrilla style,' candid cameos by noted personalities.

In Richard's book and on this film, his openness about his struggle with addictions, warped family life and dates from hell are lifted to lofty heights by his infamous neurosis. "Richard Lewis Naked" bares the intimate side of a personality who has captured many a heart through numerous TV series, films, late night talk show guest spots and personal appearances. It's a side not many people get to see. Even when he plays himself on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Richard Naked is guileless, witty, charming and, dare we say, lovable.

In spring 2008, Richard Lewis' memoir The Other Great Depression will be reissued with new "afterword" from Persues /Public Affairs Books.
